RSS on US terror list

The Terrorism Research Center (TRC) of United States named RSS as a terrorist organisation. RSS figures in the TRC list of 38 known and unknown terrorist groups operating in India. Majority in the list are Islamic groups, including the
Jamaat-I-Islami.

In return for India’s strong support of the Afghan War, and its reticence concerning Iraq, the Bush administration looked the other way as up to 300,000 anti-Muslim and anti-Christian shakhas were established under RSS auspices to "educate" the public in the virtues of Hindutva. These training camps mirror the militant function of Islamic madrassas in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and increasingly in Bangladesh, with the two movements fueling each other’s xenophobic violence. Ironically, Hindutva spells the death of Hinduism’s core principles of tolerance and nonviolence, as personified in Gandhi.”

Interestingly, the list also includes Rajneesh, or Osho cult, as a terrorist body. Founded in 1996, the TRC Inc. claims to be an "independent institute dedicated to the research of terrorism, information warfare and security, critical infrastructure protection and other issues of low-intensity political violence and gray-area phenomena".
It provides core expertise in terrorism, counterterrorism, critical infrastructure protection, information warfare and security (including design review, technical assessments, policy development and review, and training), vulnerability and threat assessment (red teaming), systems engineering, encryption, intelligence analysis, and national security and defense policy.
The TRC also maintains a network of terrorism and information warfare specialists drawn from industry, government, and academia in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Argentina, India, the Middle East, France, and Australia.
The terrorist bodies figuring in TRC's India list include the following:
