Bangalore: A city publisher here has published the first Karnataka Muslim directory of social, educational, charitable and religious institutions as well as schools, madrasas, colleges and banks in Bangalore and nearby areas like Shimoga, Udpi, Tumkur, Raichur, Mangalore, Mysore etc. It is a bi-lingual English-Urdu well-organised and well-produced directory. It also has a who’s who section in which lists of Muslim advocates, doctors, journalists and officials is offered. The Millath Directory 2005 has been published by Bedar-e Millat Publications (26/4 Hospital Road, Near Sultan Sha Masjid, Shivajinagar, Bangalore-1; Tel. 9448-067369, 9243-135238). No price is mentioned for this 148 large format directory.

Mr Abdul Khaliq, the publisher, has said in his editorial that the directory will be published every year. The first edition was released in Bangalore recently by Maulana Ashraf Ali, Ameer-e Shariat Karnataka (below; editor and publisher Mr Abdul Khaliq is the second from right).
