HES loan scholarships
Hamdard Education Society (HES), Talimabad, New Delhi, has a Talent Search and Scholarship Scheme for bright Muslims. The students who intend to continue their education at least upto the academic year 2006-2007 can apply for the scholarship. Only those regular students need apply who have secured at least marks:
High School/Higher Secondary: 80 per cent (aggregate); Intermediate or equivalent: 75 per cent (aggregate); Graduation or Post Graduation: 70 per cent (aggregate).
The criterion for selection would be merit-cum-means. It is a loan scholarship scheme. The students will have to pay back the scholarship money to HES after two years of completion of their education. The scholarship will be awarded as per following rates to students: High School/Higher Secondary: Rs 250/- per month; Intermediate or equivalent: Rs 350/- per month; Graduation; Rs 500 per month: Doctorate - Rs 1200/- per month.
The best students after scrutiny of their applications will be called for a written examination and interview in Delhi. They will be paid second class rail fare to and fro. Arrangements for their stay will be made by the Society. Those selected will be given either a loan scholarship to be determined according to means criterion, or a book grant. Those who will be awarded scholarship will have to execute a bond for the repayment of the loan. Incomplete, illegible and time-bared applications will not be considered. The last date for receipt of application forms is 10 September 2005. Examinations and interview are likely to be held in November 2005.
