Witness alleges Salman's relatives threatened him
Milli Gazette Online
Mumbai: The former bodyguard of actor Salman Khan, Ravindra Patil who is a key witness in a hit and run case involving Salman resurfaced from hiding on June 16 alleging that the actor’s relatives had threatened him against deposing before the court on three earlier occasions. Patil was with Salman when the actor rammed his car into a bakery killing one person and injuring four others on September 28, 2002.
Patil had been taken into judicial custody till June 17 in view of a non-bailable warrant issued against him and for failing to appear before court on earlier occasions.
Salman’s lawyer Dipesh Mehta made a vehement plea to the court that the actor’s trial be held in-camera, considering that a section of the media was all out to prejudice the mind of the court.
