SAD (A) chief held on sedition charges

Sangrur: Shiromani Akali Dal (A) president Simranjeet Singh Mann was arrested on June 14 on the charges of sedition for demanding a separate state of Khalistan. Mann, a former IPS officer known for his extremist views was nabbed from Mohindra Palace on Patiala Road in Sangrur and taken to Ropar.
Four cases had been registered against him at Amritsar, Talwandi Sabo, Anandpur Sahib and Majitha police stations for demanding Khalistan and making inflammatory speeches at Akal Takht and Chowk Mehta, headquarters of Damdami Taksal.
