Govindacharya criticises BJP over Babri
The
Milli Gazette Online
Varanasi: KN Govidacharya, a former BJP leader, accused the BJP leadership on February 9 for the Demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya and added that the saffron leadership failed to read the mind of the kar sevaks. But he contradicted his statement when he was asked his stand on the demolition of Babri Masjid.
Govindacharya who was ousted from the BJP five years ago because of criticising former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and calling him liberal "mask" of the party told media persons here without naming the leaders that the BJP leaders had failed to read the mind of the over one lakh kar sevaks who were emotionally charged with the intention to demolish the structure on the fateful day of December 6, 1992. The leadership could have requested the mob to disperse from the disputed site.
He added "such happenings [demolition of the mosque] need to neither condemned nor condoned. But there are lessons to be learnt for all."
The pseudo-secularists should realise that the politics of minorities and appeasement policies would lead to incidents like December 6. The demolition of Babri Masjid was a result of the politics of
minorityism.
