|Chargesheet filed against IUML leaders

Kozhikode: The Inquiry Commissioner and Vigilance Special Court Judge has filed a charge sheet against the three Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leaders, accused in the Wayanad B.Ed. college bribery case on February 14 .They are Text Fed chairman, N. Mammootty; the IUML Wayanad district secretary, PC Ahmed; and P. P.V. Moosa. According to the public interest litigation filed by the social activist, Jomon Puthanpurakkal, at the Vigilance Special Court on January 20 last year, they had demanded a sum of Rs.2.5 lakhs for granting the NOC for the proposed college of the Church at Wayanad. The Education Portfolio is with an IUML minister in Kerala. He alleged that the college was denied NOC as the Church authorities refused to pay the bribe. The trial proceedings were posted for April 4.
