“Prophet Muhammad in Hindu Scriptures”

The Milli Gazette Online

I am a regular reader of the Milli Gazette and an annual subscriber too.

I have just received the issue of 01-15 February, 2005. Please refer to page no. 29 of the said issue relating to ‘Islamic Perspectives’, in which an article under the leading "Prophet Muhammad in Hindu Scriptures" translated by Mr. Mir Abdul Majeed has been published.

I do not know as to where Mir Abdul Majeed received the original article which has been translated by him but whoever has written this article, has not been honest in writing the article and has made many wrong statements in it.

At the outset, I object to the words, "A recently published book in Hindi". This is totally wrong.

If fact a book in Hindi titled as Kalki Autar aur Muhammad Saheb was published in the year 1969/70. Hence it is 35 years old book and not recently published book and therefore, the comments, that a strict ban would have been imposed on the book have no relevance.

Secondly, the information, that the author Pundit Ved Prakash is a Bengali, is not correct. For your information the full name of the author is Pundit Ved Prakash Upadhyay. He belongs to (village Brahmpur, PO Nara, Via Siraathu) Allahabad, UP. The writer of the article may please note that Bengali Brahmins do not use "Upadhyay" title. They use the titles "Chattopadhyay" or "Bangapadhyay". The title "Upadhyay" is used by the North Indian Brahmins.

To substantiate my claim that the book was published in 1969/70 and not recently and that the name of author is Pundit Prakash Upadhyay and not Pundit Ved Prakash, I enclose the photocopies of cover page and five inside pages of the Hindi book titled Kalki Autar Aur Muhammad Saheb.

As regards the contents of the article, I do not find any worth mentioning derivation except that many other characteristics of the Last Autar predicted in the book have not been added by the writer of this article.

For general information of the readers, I may submit that the author has written three books named as under:

1.. Kalki Autar Aur Muhammad Saheb

2.. Naraashans Aur Antim Rishi

3.. Dharmik Ekta ki Jyoti

All the thee books were published in 1969 and 1970 by the author himself under the banner of Saaraswat Vedant Prakash Sangh, Village Brahmpur, PO Nara, Via Siraathu, District Allahabad, UP. For the authenticity of my statement, I am enclosing photo copies of title pages of all the three books.

Hope you will publish my letter for clarity and correction.
