Also there are many private Agencies offering these short term courses. In case due to your work schedule you cannot attend the regular classes, these courses are available through correspondence. Distance Education - Journalism
Dear Sir, I just gave my intermediate and I want to know about journalism from distance education. Does it have value ?
Mohamed Mohtasham <email@example.com>
Dear Mohtasham, just after completing your intermediate, getting into Journalism through distance education might not be a good career path. Most of the Journalism courses offered by premier universities of India through distance education are only for graduates. So I would suggest yourself to take up a BA ( Journalism) course in a regular college if you are very keen on a career in Journalism at this age itself. Or you can take up any other graduation course - as per your plan and once you complete graduation, take up Journalism - PG Diploma or Bachelor's or Master's course. For a career in journalism, more than the degree its your creative skill and abilities which are important. There are thousands of writers and journalists who have not studied Journalism but can do wonders. But since they feel the necessity of being certified, they take up Journalism through correspondence. This helps them spread their wings more. For freshers I feel doing a regular course with more practical work is best suited.
