Prof. SAR Gilani
The
Milli Gazette Online
As we go to press, a near fatal attack has been made on Prof SAR Gilani, teacher of Arabic in Delhi’s Zakir Husain College in the evening of 8 Feb. He was one of the accused in the Parliament attack case and was absolved by the Delhi High Court for total lack of evidence in a case which at best offered a gigantic proof of Advani’s unsuitability to head the home ministry (at worst it could have been planned or abetted by his team, as many in the capital say off the record). The attack on Gilani on the eve of the last leg of court hearings has only one meaning, that those who tried hard to implicate him in the first place are now trying to liquidate him and frighten others. Similar attacks on POTA-accused while on bail are common in Mumbai. It is a great challenge for the current incumbent in the home ministry who is duty-bound to unearth this conspiracy and dismantle the terror network which has been allowed to emerge by the purveyors of hate who think they are above law.
