Mayawati promises job reservation for Muslims
The
Milli Gazette Online
Giridih (Jharkhand): BSP president Mayawati on Jan 24 said if the BSP was voted to power in Jharkhand, it would formulate a separate reservation policy for Muslims in state government jobs.
Addressing an election meeting here in support of her party candidate contesting the Giridih seat, Mayawati said the BSP would not discriminate against anybody on grounds of religion and caste.
The party, she said, has fielded candidates belonging even to the general caste for the assembly polls in Jharkhand beginning on February 3. Asserting that her party has been fighting for a change in the system, she promised reservation in the judiciary also.
