Your Career queries
Milli Gazette Online
1. Correspondence Courses
I have passed Post Graduate Diploma In Management in Public Enterprise from Punjabi University Patiala besides passing
B.Com. Now I want to further study in this field through correspondence. Will you please inform me which courses are available in this field. Kindly send me the name of the university. Also intimate me where this diploma is applicable.
After completing your B.Com and the PGDPE, it’s the right time to search for a challenging job. You need to put your heart and soul towards getting a breakthrough. However, since you wish to continue further studies with correspondence courses, MBA from any of the famous open universities like IGNOU, Annamalai University, Alagappa University, etc. is a good option. Also you can study MA in Public Personnel Management from Osmania University or Pondicherry University. This would empower you for good jobs in management. Other options are PG Diploma’s in Financial Management, Public Relations, Production Management etc.
2. Post Graduate Courses in Dentistry
I was very happy to see the selfless service you are providing through Milli Gazette. I am doing internship in dentistry and I would like to know about the different prospects for dental graduates. I would like to know about the post graduation courses in India, specifically in the states - Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala. Also what other career prospects and courses are the dental graduates eligible for
Faisal, Aligarh Muslim University.
Being a dentist you can find plenty of openings in private and Governmental sectors. Job openings are good in hospitals, clinics, research centers, defense, colleges etc. But the best option is private practice. Post Graduation ( MDS ) courses are offered in the following specializations - Prosthodontics, Periodonics, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Conservtive Dentistry, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Pedodontics and Preventive Surgery. Once you complete your PG, you become a specialist and work as a dental surgeon / consultant in leading dental enterprises. Once again this boosts the profits in your private practice. For list of colleges kindly visit – www.dentalhealthindia.com, the website of Indian Dental Association.
3. Careers in Homeopathy
I have seen your web page. I am interested in knowing the career options for the B.H.M.S five and half years course for homeopathic graduates. What are the chances of going abroad ? What are other medical and paramedical courses that can be done in India and their relative prospects. Kindly advice.
Dr. N.V.S.Rao Rajahmundry, India
Homeopathic medicine is practiced worldwide, especially in the US, Europe & Asia. The homeopathic drugs make a multimillion dollar industry today. After completing BHMS, one can start practicing in hospitals, clinics as well as set up private practice. Post Graduation – MD in any one of the following specializations – Material Medica, Organon and Homeopathic philosophy, Repertory, etc.. can be the next step. There are also many online courses offered in homeopathy, like for example courses offered by www.alternativemedicinecollege.com. Once you complete graduation, if you strive to be a homeopath, without practicing allopathy, you can make a great career. Other Paramedical courses which can be considered are Masters in Hospital and Health Management, PG Diploma in Dietetics & Nutrition, Herbal medicine, Diet therapy, etc.. through correspondence.
These courses give you specialization as well as increase your scope of treatment.
4. Biotechnology courses
I am a graduate in B.Sc – Biotechnology. I want to do my P.G in M.Sc.- Biotechnology. Please mention some Muslim Minority colleges in Bangalore or in Hyderabad. Also kindly advice about the future prospects in Biotechnology.
Sheik Rafi, firstname.lastname@example.org
The prospects for a biotechnologist are really good. Both in India and abroad one can find many opportunities in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Health Care, Industry and Energy sectors. A Biotechnologist can join reputed research institutes like ICAR, IISC, DRDO, International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, etc. There is no Muslim college in Banglore or Hyderabad which offers MSc – Biotechnology in my knowledge. You can refer to a good directory for a complete list of colleges. Apart from this you can also join Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore or Ocimum Biosolutions Ltd, Hyderabad since there is a huge demand for trained Bioinformaticists in US, Europe and Australia. Bioinformatics involves software development and implementation for storage & analysis of biological data. Today Indian companies like TCS, WIPRO, Reliance, Satyam and many other pharmaceutical companies have set up research institutions and recruit bioinformaticists.
