RSS for rebuilding of India on Hindu philosophy
Milli Gazette Online
Mangalore: It was the turn of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to launch a tirade against the Communist Party of India (CPI) here on March 13. "They (Communists) say that RSS leaders have not fought for independence. I wish to ask them, have they ever lent a helping hand in rebuilding the nation?" asked RSS Sar Sangha Sanchalak K S Sudarshan. He was addressing a mammoth rally at Nehru Maidan in the city.
"The Communists have only abused the leaders who have built the nation. They have called Mahatma Gandhi as an agent of the British, supported the partition and lent full support to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the emergency. It is ridiculous that they should accuse us of not being patriotic enough," he said.
"The RSS has been involved in efforts of nation building, specially at the rural level. We have undertaken several rural development activities and the unity of all Hindus across the nation is paramount on the RSS agenda," Mr Sudarshan said calling for the nation to be rebuilt on the Hindu philosophy where soul was as important as the mind and body, "unlike the Western philosophy that is based on domination theory".
The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre is conspiring to destroy the Kanchi Math in Kanchipuram with the support of the Tamil Nadu state government, he alleged.
"In the wake of development activities undertaken by the Math in Kanchipuram and surrounding regions, the conversion levels have reduced drastically. Hence, missionaries in the region pressurised the state government which, together with the Centre, has attempted to mar the reputation of Kanchi seer Shankaracharya.
All this is because of a lack of unity among Hindus that people from other religions are taking advantage of them, he said.
Lamenting that today, caste politics had become the bane of Indian politics, he said: "Indians had begun to vote solely on the basis of caste under the wrong impression that if you vote for a person of your caste, your community will progress. It must be realised that caste politics will not result in development. Development needs a creative mindset and that is something that today's parties, specially the Communist ones do not have," he said.
"It is because of indulging in caste politics that today Bihar is among the states with worst governance and high incidence of crime," he said. Same is the case with West Bengal. Though Communist parties have ruled that state for 28 years now, five lakh labourers were thrown out of jobs over the years and today, there are only 4 lakh labourers in West Bengal. The urban poverty and rural poverty rates have only increased, he said.
RSS (South) Sangh Sanchalak Parvathji, City Sangha Chalak M B Puranik, Mangalore zone Sangh Sanchalak Dr Madhava Bhandary, VHP leaders Praveen Kumar Togadia, Ashok Singhal and Acharya Giriraj Kishore among others were present.
