Milli Gazette Online
Hyderabad: Bashiruddin Babukhan, former minister Andhra Pradesh and senior Congress leader met Finance Minister, Mr Rosaiah in March and requested him to see that entire budgetary allocation for Minorities Welfare department is released to the department. He told the finance minister that there was an apprehension in the minds of the minorities that the allocation for the current year to the department would not be released in full. The finance minister assured him that he would release the entire balance amount to the Department without fail.
The budgetary allocation for the department has been raised from Rs 39 crore to 49 crore for 2005-06. As the funds have been assured, the concerned agencies as Minorities Finance Corporation, Urdu Academy and Waqf Board can make preparations to spend the money under schemes being implemented by them.
