Young Muslim Scientist Award - 2003
The Governing Council of Aligarh-based Muslim Association for the Advancement of Science has announced the following awards for 2003. These awards will be given in a ceremony to be held sometime in November 2005 alongwith the awards of the year 2002 and 2004.

1. Physical Sciences
Dr. Faiz Ahmad Khan
An Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at IIT, Kanpur. Obtained Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Hyderabad in 1994. Major field of research is “Synthetic Organic Chemistry.”
2. Life Sciences
Dr. Farhan Jalees Ahmad
Reader in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi and Ph.D in Pharmaceutics from there. His area of work is “Novel Drug Delivery System.”
Best Paper Award (BPA) 2003
1. Physical Sciences
(a) Dr. S.A.R. Hashmi
Working as Scientist-E1 at Regional Research Laboratory, Bhopal. Ph.D (Applied Chemistry). Bagged BPA for his paper titled “Dynamic Mechanical Behaviour of LLDPE Composites Reinforced with Kevlar Fibres/ Short Glass Fibres.”
(b) Mrs. Arjumand A. Kittur
Working as Lecturer at Anjuman Degree College, Dharwad. M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry from Karnataka University. Being awarded BPA for her Research Paper entitled “Pervaporation Separation of Water-Isopropanol Mixtures Using ZSM-5 Zeolite Incorporated Poly Vinyl alcohol Membranes.”
2. Life Sciences
Mr.
Mohd. Faisal
Working as Research Scholar in the Department of Botany at AMU, Aligarh.. M.Phil in Botany from AMU. Bagged BPA for his paper titled “Rapid Mass Propagation of Tylophora Indica (Burn .f.) via Leaf Callus Culture.”
