3000 Urdu teachers to be appointed in UP

Buland Shahar: Uttar Pradesh minister for primary education, Prof Karan Pal Singh while speaking at a reception in his honour at a madrasa in Aurangabad on January 4 said that announcements of the appointment of 3000 Urdu teachers in UP will be made soon. He said that there should be no politics in matters of education and therefore Samajwadi Party wanted to put an end to the poison of casteism and communalism spread by the previous governments. He also said that society cannot progress without the education of women and regretted that even after 58 years of Independence only 5 percent people in UP are educated and 43 percent are totally illiterate.

Describing Urdu as a sweet language, he said that SP government is duty-bound to promote Urdu. It was during the rule of SP government that Urdu translators were appointed. He said that Urdu ITI (Industrial Training Institute) centres are also being opened by the state government.

Speaking about Jauhar University at Rampur, he said that opposition to this university is because of conspiracy of political parties. He announced a grant of Rs One lakh and a computer to the madrasa.
