Asian Development Bank loan for Kashmir
New Delhi: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has for the first time extended loans both to Indian Kashmir and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir has been promised $250 million assistance for infrastructure, rehabilitation, and the Kashmir on the other side of the border $57 million for improvement in healthcare, education, water supply, roads and power. The loan has been considered at the request of the Indian government which had approached the ADB in 2004.
