Cowheads create tension in Rajasthan villages

Jaipur: Discovery of 150 chopped off heads of cows by police in Ramgarh Raskin village of Alwar district, Rajasthan has led to communal tension in the whole neighbouring areas. Seven persons have been arrested. But VHP is not satisfied with the police action and is accusing the BJP government in the state for carelessness and suppression of facts. VHP leaders resorted to sit-in strike. VHP is also accusing the police of suppressing the facts and it threatened to continue its campaign till the guilty police personnel are dismissed.

VHP also showed a video film in Bharat Mata Mandir claiming that in Ramgarh Tahsil not 150 but 234 cows had been killed and in order to suppress the facts the police and administration buried the remaining heads of the cows. VHP leader, Acharya Dharmendra demanded immediate dismissal of guilty police officers and sat on dharna.

The state government criticised the VHP for unnecessarily complicating the matter. According to the superintendent of police steps could be taken only after post-mortem reports. Investigations into the incidents are going on and police teams have been sent to Mewat, and other ‘suspicious’ places in Haryana. VHP and Bajrang Dal activists protesting against the government said that no government officer came to them to accept their memorandum.
