Nikahnama
I have just returned from Dubai where I got the good news of
Nikahnama being accepted by AIMPLB. I have not yet seen the approved draft but any Nikahnama is welcome. Once the concept is accepted, then there are chances of modification with the consent of ulama as and when need arises. Our group never insisted that our
Nikahnama alone should be accepted as a model. The only thing we suggested was that our Nikahnama was drafted by people who have wide experience by working for years at grassroot level. Hopefully, the approved Nikahnama contains all those clauses but if not we have no complaints.
In any case, I welcome the Nikahnama from Board. It took us 12 years to get the things at proper place. I am happy that we could show the problems of Ummah to the Board in proper perspective and they were kind to accept it. I feel its not the fault of ulama; the divide between ulama and so-called secular or modern elite is so wide that it will take decades before the gap is filled. What I am doing is just a humble begining in this direction. May Allah SWT accept this. With kind regards and with deep sense of gratitude for supporting the cause.
