MUSHAWARAT
CONDEMNS MASSACRE OF CHRISTIANS IN PAKISTAN
THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION FOR TERRORISM BY CHRISTIANS AGAINST MUSLIMS OR
VICE-VERSA
New Delhi, 29 October, 2001: Mr Syed Shahabuddin, President of the
All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following
Statement:
"The All India Muslim
Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) condemns the cold-blooded massacre of 18
Christians in Bahawalpur during Church service on 28 October, 2001 as
brutal, anti-human and anti-Islamic.
The Mushawarat expresses its deep sympathy for the aggrieved families,
and calls upon the Government of Pakistan not only to identify and
punish the culprits but to assure security for the Christians living in
Pakistan.
The AIMMM also takes the opportunity to remind the Muslim militants in
Pakistan that the US attack on Afghanistan does not amount to a general
war between Christians and Muslims and that millions of followers of the
two religious live peacefully with each other in hundreds of States and
there is no legal or moral justification for such act of terrorism
against helpless and innocent people by one religious community against
another." q |
