STATEMENT
New Delhi, 5 February, 2002: Mr. G.M.
Banatwalla, M.P., National President, Indian Union Muslim League, has
issued the following statement for favour of publication:
"It is shocking and highly objectionable that the Central
Government is considering a proposal to transfer the so-called
‘undisputed land’ in Babri Masjid issue to Vishwa Hindu Parishad and
such other for construction of temple. The Indian Union Muslim League
strongly opposes any transfer of the Babri Masjid land or the
surrounding wakf land or the Government acquired or the so-called
'undisputed land’ to these forces. I have sent a strong protest
telegram to the Prime Minister. The consideration of the proposal would
be an object, unabased surrender to the threatening extremists. Indeed,
the attack on our Parliament was terrorism; and so also the attack on
Babri M.asjid, too, is terrorism. It is open defiance of the
Constitution and of the apex Court of our Country .Let there be no
compromise with these terrorists.
The Indian Union Muslim League appeals to the Central Government not to
give in to the threatening forces and to take stem action against them.
The Indian Union Muslim League appeals to all the allies in the
government with BJP-Shiv Sena to protest strongly and prevail upon the
Prime Minister to desist from any such move.
The Indian Union Muslim League also appeals to the secular people and
organisations throughout the country to send to the Prime Minister, on
Friday 8 February 2002, telegrams protesting against any transfer of
Babri Masjid or Surrounding wakf or acquired or so called 'undisputed’
land to the threatening terrorists " .
