AIMF strongly condemns the reluctance being shown by the U.P. Mayawati government in issuing the notification in the Babri Masjid demolition case

Appreciates the decision of the Election Commission of India

Lucknow, September 10, 2002: The monthly State Level Workers' Meeting of All India Muslim Forum was held today at the Common Hall of Darul-Shafa's 'A' Bloc. It was presided over by the U.P. President of Muslim Forum Mr Salahuddin Khan, Advocate and attended by the delegates from many Distts. At the beginning of the meeting the recently published Book ' SECULAR HORROR- A FIFTEEN YEARS ORDEAL WITH INDIAN SECULARISM' written by the President of Muslim Forum, Mustafa Kamal Sherwani and published by Pharos Media and Publishing Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi was released. After exhaustive deliberations, the following resolutions were unanimously passed.

1. The meeting strongly condemned the reluctance being shown by the U.P. Mayawati government in issuing the notification in the Babri Masjid demolition case within the stipulated time given by the Supreme Court of India. Terming this action of the Chief Minister Mayawati as an integral part of the B.J.P.'s fascist agenda, the resolution called upon all the Muslim and secular-minded M.L.A.s of B.S.P. and other allied parties to exert pressure on the government to issue notification failing which they should tender their resignations, if they have the least sense of shame.

2. The meeting regretted that now when the 'DHIKKAR RALLY' being organized by the B.S.P. will be addressed by Mr L.K.Advani, the Chief Patron of Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, even the last traces of fictitious secularism have been eliminated from the characters of Mayawati and Kansi Ram. Under these circumstances it becomes the religious obligation of Muslim Ulema who are always active before every election in issuing appeals to Muslims to defeat B.J.P., to declare all the Muslim M.L.A.s of B.S.P. and allied parties as the enemies of Islam and Muslim Community and prohibit their entry into the mosques.

3. The meeting recorded its appreciation for the decision of the Election Commission of India which was also authenticated by the Honourable Supreme Court in not allowing the Fascist forces to hold the Assembly elections in Gujarat in the existing communally surcharged atmosphere.
