MUSLIM MAJLIS-e-MUSHAWARAT
AIMMM Expresses Sorrow over Railway Accident and
Offers Condolence to Bereaved Families
Calls for Urgent Investigation and Implementation of Expert
Recommendations
New Delhi, 13 September, 2002: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of
the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the
following Statement:
"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) expresses its
profound sorrow at the heavy toll of human life and limb and of national
property caused by the railway accident on 9 September, 2002. The AIMMM
offers its sincere condolences to the bereaved families and prays for
the recovery of the injured.
The AIMMM also calls for urgent investigation to establish the cause of
the accident and for the implementation of the existing recommendations
for improving the safety of railway travel made by various official
Committees which have so far been gathering dust."
