AIMMM Requests Human Rights Commission, Minorities Commission and Election Committee to take due Notice of Modi's Provocative Fulminations
Advises Muslims to keep their Cool and Not to fall into Modi's Trap

New Delhi, 14 September, 2002: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement:

"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) strongly condemns Shri Narendra Modi, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Gujarat, for his vulgar and intimidatory fulminations against the Muslim community and attributes them to his incorrigible hostility, as an RSS Pracharak, towards Islam and the Muslims.

The AIMMM is of the considered view that such remarks do not add to the 'glory' of Gujarat but to its universal shame under the Modi regime.

The AIMMM calls upon the Union Government, the National Human Rights Commission and the National Commission for Minorities as well as the Election Commission of India to take due notice of such statements.

The AIMMM is conscious that such remarks sprinkle salt over the wounds of genocidal carnage which have not yet healed. However, it appeals to the Muslim community to treat Shri Modi's vulgarity with the contempt they deserve and not to fall into his provocative trap."
