Press Statement About the terrorist attack at the Swaminarayan temple of Gandhinagar

Lucknow, September 25, 2002: All India Muslim Forum has strongly criticized the brutal terrorist attack yesterday at the Swaminarayan temple at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. In a joint statement issued here, the national President of Muslim Forum Dr M.K. Sherwani and its State President, Salahuddin Khan, Advocate asserted that now a time has come when the country, in order to seek the final riddance from terrorism, will have to throw aside its mutual differences and hostilities and rise as a single united force. The Muslim Forum leaders stressed that shedding the blood of the innocent in this manner is a blot on every religion and civilization.

Dr M.K. Sherwani and Salahuddin Khan made a fervent appeal to the government that if it sincerely wishes to emancipate the country from the scourge of terrorism, then it must take every section of the society into confidence and stop making differences between terrorists on the basis of religion and caste.
