ALL INDIA MUSLIM FORUM

THE OBSERVANCE OF DECEMBER 6, AS 'THE DAY OF NATIONAL SHAME’

Lucknow, December 6, 2002: All India Muslim Forum observed the tenth anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid today as 'THE DAY OF NATIONAL SHAME' and, as a part of its programme, staged a 'PEACEFUL PROTEST DHARNA' outside Vidhan Sabha ,Lucknow. The 'DHARNA' was presided over by the U.P. President of Muslim Forum, Mr Salahuddin Khan, advocate, and the protesters expressed their deep sense of anguish by wearing black badges and raising angry slogans against the fascist forces of the country who had not only demolished the mosque at Ayodhya ten years ago but also bulldozed the whole secular structure of the nation.

Addressing the protesters on this occasion, the Muslim Forum President Dr. M.K. Sherwani emphasized the need for the Indian Muslim community to consolidate their vote and demonstrate their electoral potential within the democratic structure of the country, if they wish to seek an ever-lasting redress of their grievances and healthy riddance from the rising heap of atrocities. He asserted that the excruciating pain of December,6,1992 and the fiendish savagery against the community in Gujarat can be relieved neither by weeping and nor by the fictitious secular parties, but by Muslims' own electoral strength when gathered under their own banner and with a distinct identity.

Mr Salahuddin Khan lamented the fact that the shameless fascist forces are celebrating the ' THE DAY OF SHAME' as the 'DAY OF VICTORY' and the so-called guardians of the secular Constitution, both at Centre and State are mutely watching as silent conspirators. Others who addressed the Dharna included the Muslim Forum Vice-President Syed Afzal, the President of Muslim Forum's Youth Wing, Mr Saeed Arshad Azmi, its U.P. President, Mr Mohd.Naseem Khan, U.P. Secretary of Muslim Forum, Mr Moinullah Khan, Lucknow President, Mr Riyaz Ahmed Qureishi, Distt. Lucknow President, Dr.Aftab Ahmed, Mr Intasar, Lucknow General Secretary, Mr Naseem, Lucknow Joint Secretary, Mr Idrees, Mr Munna and Mr Shahanshah.
