IMF deplores the anti-minorities hysteria in India
Urges the President of India and Supreme Court of India to Immediately allow Muslims to rebuild the Babari Masjid
London, 08 December, 2002: UK based Indian organisations deplores the anti-minorities and particularly anti-Muslim hysteria in India by the fascist and communal forces led by organisations such as VHP, RSS, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal.
Marking the 10th Anniversary of the demolition of 16th century Babari Masjid in Ayodhya in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a protest meeting attended by many UK based organisations representing all faiths urged the President of India and Supreme Court of India to "Immediately allow Muslims to rebuild the Babari Masjid as promised by the then Prime Minister of India in 1992" (please see the attached resolution).
The meeting was organised by the Indian Muslim Federation (UK), a United Nations recognised non-governmental organisation.
The Babari Masjid was built in 1528 by Mir Baqi, one of the Governors of Mughal Emperor Babar, and was pulled down on 6th December 1992 by the fascist forces representing VHP, RSS, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal. The 49 named culprit involved in this crime include the present Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, Sports Minister Sadhvi Uma Bharati and HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi and other members of Sangh Parivar.
The destruction of Babari Masjid in 1992 has followed a well-organised campaign against Muslims and other minorities all over the country led by the fascist forces of Sangh Parivar (family) which includes VHP, RSS, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal.
The meeting urged the President of India to implement the recommendations of the recently published reports by the international and national non-governmental organisations on Genocide of Muslims since March 2002 in Gujarat and to punish the perpetrators involved in organising such crimes including Gujarat's Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The Government of India has also been asked to abide the International Law and UN Declaration of the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities (1992) and International Covenant on Civil & Political Rights (1966) as its signatory and protect the lives, property and rights of the minorities in India.
