Letter to PM requesting revival of Commission National Commission for Minorities

My dear Prime Minister,

The term of the Chairman and 5 members of the National Commission for Minorities expired on 23 January, 2003 and of the last, the 7th Member, expires today.

It is amazing, and perhaps symptomatic of the little importance that the Government attach to the Commission, that the term of the Chairman and members of the Commission have not been extended nor new Chairman and members have been nominated.

We presume that the Government have not decided to abolish the Commission. We request you to revive the Commission and nominate to the Commission at the earliest reputed personalities with knowledge and experience who enjoy the confidence of their communities.
