Mushawarat Condemns Marad Massacre
Demands Identification and Prosecution of Culprits, Compensation for Next-of-Kin
New Delhi, 9 May, 2003: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement:
"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) strongly condemns the Marad Massacre in which nine lives were lost and scores were injured and
much property was torched.
The AIMMM appreciates immediate action by the State Government to contain the cycle of violence and to order a judicial inquiry to bring out the
real cause of the conflict, identify and prosecute the culprits.
The AIMMM expresses its sympathy with the affected families and requests the State Government to extend all possible assistance including ex-gratia compensation."
