ALL INDIA MUSLIM FORUM

Monthly state level 'Workers Meeting' and its resolutions

Lucknow: May, 10,2003 The monthly state level 'Workers Meeting' of All India Muslim Forum was held today at the Common Hall of 'A' Block of Darul- Shafa, Lucknow. The meeting was presided over by the U. P. President of Muslim Forum, Mr Salahuddin Khan, advocate, and attended by the workers from many districts. At the meeting the following two resolutions were unanimously passed after thorough discussion.

1. The meeting welcomed the growing congeniality in the Mutual relations between India and Pakistan, and in this context, deeply appreciated the initiative taken by Mr A. B. Vajpayee for resolving all the vexatious problems between the two neighbours. The resolution urged both the countries to come down from their ivory towers and try to understand the international situation in a realistic perspective, especially after the brutal and forcible American occupation of Iraq. If India and Pakistan continue to stick to their old legacy of false pretexts and pretensions, Kashmir is certain to become the next victim of American imperialism.

2. The meeting strongly condemned the fast growing fascism in the country with the active connivance of both the central and U. P. government and demanded the immediate arrest under POTA of the persons like Togadia, who are vitiating the communal atmosphere in the country by their absurd, cheap and irresponsible statements.
