Mushawarat Condoles the Demise of Dr. Ishtiaq Husain Quraishi
New Delhi, 27 August, 2003: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement:
"The AIMMM expresses its deep sorrow at the demise of Dr. Ishtiaq Husain Quraishi, General Secretary of the All India Deeni Talimi Council, the Association of Minority Educational Institutions, UP and the Editor of the Nida-e-Millat. Dr. Quraishi was a dedicated and silent campaigner for many causes of the community. All his life he was associated with various Muslim organizations and institutions of national eminence, the Nadwa-tul Ulama, Lucknow, the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, the AMU Action Committee. He was equally committed to national unity, communal harmony and social peace.
Muslim India has lost an enlightened theorist and a tireless activist in him.
The AIMMM offers its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prays to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul."
