TMMK DEMONSTRATION DEMANDING DISMISSAL OF MODI GOVERNMENT

Chennai, 19 September, 2003: TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam conducted a demonstration today (19th September 19, 2003) demanding the dismissal of the Narendra Modi led Gujarat Government in the light of the severe reprimand made on its vicious performance by the Supreme Court in the Best Bakery case.

The Narendra Modi Government’s action and inaction in the Gujarat genocide 2002 has been a humiliation to the justice and peace loving polity of our country. After having played an active role in instigating and partaking in the Genocide, the Modi led Gujarat government has attempted to derail the judicial system too. Thanks to the yeomen efforts of the National Human Rights Commission and voluntary organisations like Citizens for Peace and Justice, the Supreme Court has been appraised of the efforts of the Modi Government to thwart justice in the Best Bakery Case and the Bilkis case. The Supreme Court has very rightly castigated the Modi Government for the dereliction of its duties and its attempt to protect the murderers of 14 persons in the Best Bakery Case. The Supreme Court has also very candidly asked the Modi Government to quit for it nefarious role in the case.

The Supreme Court’s remarks on Modi Government is unique in many ways. No other State Government in India has received such a blatant reprimand for its culpability with the perpetrators of a communal genoicide.

In this background TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam is holding demonstration all over the state demanding the President of India to dismiss the Narendra Modi led Gujarat Government.

In the first phase of this agitation, a demonstration was conducted by the Chennai District TMMK in front of the Park Town Post Office Chennai today. Mr.S. Hyder Ali, General Secretary of TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam led the demonstration. The demonstration was well attended by men and women.
