AIMMM Condemns Jamil Ilyasi and his Group for Negotiation with Sangh Parivar
Cautions Government and Sangh Parivar against Reliance on Building up and Negotiating with Non-entities
New Delhi, 24 October, 2003: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement:
The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) condemns the recent meeting of the President of the A.I. Imams Organization and his associates with the leaders of the Sangh Parivar including the
VHP.
The AIMMM places on record that Janab Jamil Ilyasi and his associates have no standing in the Muslim community and no authority, whatsoever, to negotiate a deal with the Sangh Parivar or with the Government on any issue affecting the Muslim community. Nor has the Sangh Parivar any constitutional or legal authority to commit the Vajpayee Government which has, during its four year in power, never cared to enter into dialogue with any Muslim organization of national eminence on the grievances and aspirations of the Muslim community. Both the Sangh Parivar and the Union Government have been trying to build up persons of little standing and no consequence as Muleaders to use them in possible contingencies that may arise to hoodwink the country.
The AIMMM cautions the Muslim community against such maneouvers as well as against such individuals and organizations which are playing with the Government and the Parivar, for proximity to the power structure and for personal gain.
The AIMMM also cautions the Government and the Sangh Parivar that the Muslim community shall not be bound by any ‘agreement’ or ‘offer’, signed by non-entities on any issue."
