Observed the Eleventh Anniversary of the martyrdom / demolition of Babri Masjid as the 'DAY OF NATIONAL SHAME'
6, 2003 - All India Muslim Forum today observed the Eleventh Anniversary of the martyrdom / demolition of Babri Masjid as the 'DAY OF NATIONAL SHAME', and as a part of its different programmes held a 'PEACEFUL PROTEST DHARNA' outside Lucknow Vidhan Sabha from 11.a.m. to 4.p.m. The 'DHARNA' was presided over by the U.P. President of Muslim Forum, Mr Salahuddin Khan, Advocate. The protesters were raising the slogans , condemning the fascist forces, who by outrageously demolishing the Babri Masjid this day eleven years ago, not only tore apart the secular fabric of the nation but also brought the dirtiest ever shame to its centuries-old cultural heritage . Addressing the protesters, the President of Muslim Forum Dr.M.K. Sherwani emphatically said that it is a matter of further shame that during this period of more than one decade after the demolition of the Babri Masjid, the distinction between fascism and secularism has totally disappeared. All the so-called stalwarts of secular values are presently the partners of B.J.P. at the Centre, and in U.P. too, the B.S.P. has been, and the Samajwadi Party currently is its ( B.J.P.'s) close ally. What else can be more shameful, Dr Sherwani asserted, than the fact that the self-styled champion of Babri Msjid Mohd Azam Khan, his political mentor, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, and the main culprits of the demolition of Babri Masjid, Kalyan Singh and Sakshi Maharaj are in the same camp, enjoying a deep spirit of bonhomie. The U.P. President of Muslim Forum Mr. Salahuddin Khan, Advocate regretted that it is most reprehensible that the Mulayam Singh government, with Mohd. Azam Khan as a Cabinet Minister in it has recently attempted to shield Mr. L.K. Advani, the main provocative force behind the Babri Masjid demolition. He said that it is our democratic shamelessness which is unheard of in any civilized system that the accused persons of such heinous crime have held, and are holding the top-ranking positions in the government. Others who addressed the Dharna included Mr. Saeed Arshad Azmi, Dr Aftab Ahmed, Mohd Naseem Khan, Mohd. Naseem, Riyaz Ahmed Qureishi , Rehmat Ali Ansari, Shahinshah, Idrees and
