JIH expresses deep sense of sorrow and grief on the loss of lives in the Iran earthquake
New Delhi, 27 December, 2003: The Acting Ameer
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Moonis has expressed his deep
sense of sorrow and grief on the great loss of lives and properties in the
city of Bam in south-eastern Iran suffered in a powerful earthquake
yesterday. He has prayed to Allah for forgiveness of those killed, and for
speedy recovery of those injured. He has also extended his deep-felt
sympathy towards the affected families.
The Action Ameer expects from the people
as well as the Government of Iran that reposing trust in God they would
face this great tragedy with utmost daring and zeal. The Jamaat leader has
appealed to the Governments of other countries and voluntary agencies to
extend their helping hands at the tragic moment of Iran.
