Muslims Demonstrate in Chennai demanding withdrawl of Occupation Forces from Iraq

Chennai, 26 December, 2003: Muslims of Chennai under the banner of TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) conducted a demonstration today in Chennai demanding the withdrawl of US led occupation forces from Iraq.

The US led occupation coalition invaded Iraq on the pretext of destroying Weapons of Mass Destruction which they claimed are in possession of Iraq. However they failed miserably in their professed objectives and instead they are massacring innocent Iraqis and swindling its natural resources.

The occupation forces could only succeed in capturing the former Iraqi President Saddam Hussain after 8 months of occupation. In this circumstances the prolonging occupation of Iraq is illegal, atrocious and against International laws and covenants.

The reasons put forth by the US for the occupation of Iraq have now turned out to be blatant lies. The US and its occupation cronies are duty bound to explain to the world the whereabouts of the WMDs or is Saddam the WMD they were talking about.

Hundreds of Men, Women and Children took part in the demonstration in which slogans demanding the withdrawal of occupation forces from Iraq and expressing solidarity with the Iraqi people. Mr. S. Hyder Ali, General Secretary of TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam led the demonstration organised by the Chennai District, TMMK.
