Joint Message of Condolence on Earthquake in Iran
New Delhi, 30 December, 2003:
"On behalf of the Muslim community of India, we express our deep sorrow at the stupendous loss of life and property in the earthquake which hit the historic city of Bam.
We convey our heartfelt condolences to the people who have lost their near and dear ones and pray to Allah to grant them the spiritual and physical strength to bear their sorrow, nurse the injured back to health and rebuild their life. We also pray to Allah for eternal peace to the departed souls.
We convey our sincere condolences to the fraternal people of Iran on this national distress and appeal to the Government and the people of India to extend all possible cooperation to them for the relief of the affected."
