Masjid issue, TMMK president also discussed the reservation for Muslims.

To
Dr. Manmohan Singh
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India
New Delhi
Hon’ble Prime Minister,
May Almighty’s Peace and Blessings be showered upon you.
TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) is a mass based organization of
the Muslims of TamilNadu which is working for the welfare of all section
of Muslims and other persecuted masses. It has been striving for the
establishment of Minority Rights in the state of TamilNadu since 1995.
TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam has tirelessly worked for the civil and
political rights of Muslims and other persecuted people of TamilNadu by
adopting peaceful form of agitations like dharna, procession,
demonstration, public meetings, picketing etc., These peaceful agitational
methods have helped to solve many a problem facing the Minority community
in TamilNadu. Though TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam is not a political
party contesting elections, it has through its large network, educated the
people to vote for parties which are friendly towards the interests of the
Muslims. Through its large following TMMK has become a powerful force to
reckon within the political arena of TamilNadu. TMMK was an active
constituent of the Democrative Progressive Alliance in TamilNadu and we
worked actively for the victory of the DPA candidates during the last
Parliament elections. December 6, 2004 marks the 12th Anniversary of the
demolition of Babri Masjid.
We believe that the demolition of Babri Masjid defying the rule of law is
the most heinous crime committed in the history of our country. It is a
crime which cannot be forgotten and which should not recur in the future.
Our Country has suffered a lot due to the demolition of the Masjid which
had served the Muslims for more than 450 years. A token strength of TMMK
volunteers from TamilNadu came from TamilNadu and conducted a
demonstration near Jantar Mantar in Parliament Street on December 6, 2004.
Now that a secular Government headed by a noble soul like yourself has
assumed power we put forth the following demands for your kind
consideration and action.
1. On the ill fated day of the demolition of Babri Masjid, Mr. P.V.
Narasimha Rao the then Prime Minister addressing the nation through
Doordarshan promised the nation that the demolished Masjid will be rebuilt
on the site where it stood. However the Nation is still waiting for the
fulfillment of the promise given by the then Prime Minister. We demand the
present Central Government led by a Congress Prime Minister to fulfill the
promise given on December 6, 1992, by the then P. V. Narasimha Rao led
Congress Government. The majority of the parties now forming the
constituents of the United Progressive Alliance have taken a public view
supporting the cause of Muslim Community in the Babri Masjid issue.
Therefore it will be fitting if the UPA Government under your leadership
takes suitable steps to reconstruct the Babri Masjid at the same spot
where it stood since 1528.
2. We also demand that the central government should initiate suitable
steps to remedy the flaw in FIR 198 filed against L.K. Advani and others
and to expedite the legal process so as to bring to justice, Mr. L.
K.Advani and others who have been charge sheeted by the CBI in the Babri
Masjid demolition case.
3. The Babri Masjid title suit is heard by the Lucknow Bench of the
Allahabad High Court on a day to day basis. However only the Commissioner
nominated by the Bench hearing the case is recording the evidence of the
Witness. We appeal to Central Government to take suitable steps so that
three Judges of the Bench hear the case every day so that the judgment
will be delivered soon.
4. The Viswa Hindu Parishad has been indulging in the illegal act of
preparing the construction materials for building a temple at the spot
where Babri Masjid existed. We appeal to the Central Government to take
suitable steps to confiscate the building materials and to ban all
activities of the VHP in this regard
5. The Liberahan Commission which has been enquiring the Babri Masjid
demolition case for more than a decade. We appeal to you to take suitable
steps for the conclusion of the enquiry and release of the report.
Thanking you,
(M.H.JAWAHIRULLAH)
