TMMK cadres arrested in Chennai, picketing agitation to demand rebuild Babri Masjid
New Delhi, 6 December, 2004:
Ever since its inception in August 1995, TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam has organized every year, peaceful protest programmes on 6th December, all over Tamilnadu the day of demolition of Babri Masjid demanding justice for the Muslim Community. Today the picketing agitation took place in all over Tamilnadu District and thousands of TMMK cadres were arrested by the police.
In Chennai TMMK cadres above thousand under the leadership of TMMK General Secretary Mr. S. Hyder Ali marched from chennai Mount Road Dargah at 11 am to picket the Mount Road Head Post Office. But Police arrested all of them. The Agitation demanded the following:
1. To remind the present Central Government led by a Congress Prime Minister to fulfill the promise given on December 6, 1992, by the then P. V. Narasimha Rao led Congress Government that the demolished Masjid will be rebuild on the same site.
2. To appeal to the central government to expedite the legal process so as to bring to justice
Mr. L.K.Advani and other accused who have been charge sheeted by the CBI in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
3. To take suitable steps to confiscate the building materials and to ban all activities of the VHP in this regard.
4. To release the report of the Liberahan Commission immediately which has been enquiring the Babri Masjid demolition case for more than a decade.
