BMMCC Appeals to UPA to Reiterate its Commitment on Babri Masjid Question and Support CBI Appeal against
Advani's Acquittal
New Delhi, 4 December, 2004: Shri Syed
Shahabuddin, Convener, Babari Masjid Movement Coordination Committee (BMMCC), has issued the following Statement :
“On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of
the Demolition of the Babari Masjid, the Babari Masjid Movement
Coordination Committee (BMMCC) appeals to the Union Government to
reiterate its commitment to execute the final judicial verdict on title to
the disputed area in Ayodhya and then implement the road map or the Scheme
for the utilization of the Acquired Area as laid down by the Supreme Court
in its Judgement of October, 1994. The Government should also appeal to
all sections of the people to respect the final judicial verdict, whatever
it be, and thus reaffirm the respect for the rule of law. This will
set at rest the confusion caused by repeated demand for ‘negotiation or
legislation’ raised by the Sangh Parivar.
It may be added that the hearing of the case by the Special Bench of
the Allahabad High Court has reached the final stages and its judgement
may be expected in another 6 months or so.
The BMMCC takes the opportunity to reiterate its request to Shri
Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh :
a) to issue a revised Notification so that the criminal case
related to the Demolition is restored for trial by the Special Court, at
Lucknow, under the comprehensive charge sheet already filed by the CBI;
b) to support the CBI appeal against the Order of the Rae Bareli
Court to acquit the prime accused L.K. Advani of conspiracy
charge;
c) to file long-awaited affidavits in 2 important cases
pending before the Supreme Court;
d) to take in its custody the architectural elements carved
for the proposed temple and stocked in Ayodhya to check their use, until
land is allotted to the Nyas in the light of the final judicial verdict.
The BMMCC is confident that Truth and the Rule of Law shall prevail.
