AIMMM Condemns Cold-blooded Murder of Nepali Citizens in Iraq
Deplores Violence against Muslims & Masjids in Kathmandu
Requests Nepal to Protect Muslims and Compensate them

New Delhi, 2 September, 2004: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis- e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement :

"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) condemns the cold-blooded murder of Nepali citizens in Iraq by some terrorist organization.

But the AIMMM equally deplores the violence unleashed in Kathmandu and other towns of Nepal against the Muslim community and its religious institutions. The Muslims of Nepal or of other country, even of Iraq, have nothing to do with the barbaric act. So the violence in Nepal has no justification in law or morality.

The AIMMM requests the Government of Nepal to protect the life and dignity of the Muslim community in Nepal and also to make ex-gratia payment for the loss of life and limb suffered by the victims of violence and for the repair and reconstruction of the Masjids."
