Attack on Journalists is Attack on Freedom of Press
New Delhi, 30 August, 2004: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis- e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement :
"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) condemns the physical attack on Mr. Sajid Rashid, Editor of the Hindi Hamara Mahanagar and on Mr. Nikhil Wagle, Editor of the Marathi Mahanagar, as an attack on the Freedom of the Press which is one of the foundations of democracy.
The AIMMM calls upon the Maharashtra Government to instruct the Mumbai Police to accelerate the investigation, unearth the conspiracy behind, identify the culprits and prosecute them."
