AIMMM Condoles the Demise of Gujarat Leader Amarsinh Chaudhary
Remembers him for Secular Commitment,
Defiance of Wave of Hatred and Defence of Victims
New Delhi, 16 August, 2004: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis- e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement :
"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) pays its tribute to Amarsinh Chaudhary, Leader of the Opposition in the Gujarat Assembly and former Chief Minister of Gujarat for his strong commitment to secularism, his public defiance of the wave of violence and hatred unleashed by the Modi Government in 2002 and his defence of the victims of the carnage.
It recalls that even from his sick bed, Chaudhary reiterated his demand for a full-fledged CBI inquiry in the Godhra Incident and the Gujarat Carnage.
The AIMMM joins the people of Gujarat in mourning his loss and offers its sincere condolences to them for the loss of a great leader and to the bereaved family."
