Muslim Forum's Protest against America
Lucknow: May, 12, 2004: All India Muslim Forum today staged a massive demonstration outside Vidhan Sabha Lucknow in protest against the most barbaric and outrageous treatment being meted out to the prisoners of war and general masses of Iraq by the American-led occupation forces. The protesters were wearing black badges and vociferously raising slogans against the excesses being committed in Iraq by the American demons which have no parallels in the modern civilized world. The demonstration was led by the President of Muslim Forum
Dr. M. K. Sherwani.. To give vent to their ire and anguish, the protesters also burnt the effigies of American President George
W. Bush and British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
On this occasion, the President of Muslim Forum, Dr. M. K. Sherwani sent a memorandum to His Excellency, the President of India, appealing to him to 'realize the gravity of the threat which the brutal and unscrupulous might of American despotism is posing to the human morality , and, therefore, as Head of the largest democracy of the world, intervene for the restoration of Iraq's sovereignty and protection of human rights of its people.'
At the conclusion of the demonstration it was unanimously resolved that soon Muslim Forum will send representations to the Heads of all Major Powers of the world, asking them to stop cowering unashamedly , and have the courage of conviction in exerting pressure on Americans to stop inhuman behaviour in Iraq and vacate its territories forthwith.
Prominent amongst those who spoke on the occasion and condemned the U.S. Military barbarities in Iraq included the President of Muslim Forum, Dr. M.K. Sherwani, the Vice-President Syed Afzal Askari, U.P. President, Salahuddin Khan, Youth President Saeed Arshad Azmi and U.P. Youth president, Mohd. Naseem Khan.
