The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) deplores the massacre of militants by Thai Security Forces in a Masjid in Pattani as the militants could have been disarmed and captured by other means without use of force.
The AIMMM expresses its hope that your Government shall try to resolve the problem through negotiations with the representatives of the Muslim community in Thailand as it is of the view that use of force will not suppress militancy unless longstanding grievances and aspirations for religious freedom and territorial autonomy are addressed meaningfully.
The AIMMM would be grateful if Your Excellency would be kind enough to convey our views to the Government of Thailand.
