level 'Workers Meeting' and its resolutions
Lucknow: January, 10, 2004: The Executive Committee meeting of All India Muslim Forum was held today in the Common Hall of 'A' Bloc of Darul-Shafa, Lucknow which was presided over by the President of Muslim Forum, Dr. M. K. Sherwani. After a comprehensive debate the following three resolutions were unanimously passed.
1.Through the first resolution a sense of satisfaction was expressed over the successful visit of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Islamabad during the SAARC Summit and gradual elimination of various impediments in the relations between India and Pakistan. It was noted with strong optimism that the ongoing process of confidence- building measures may ultimately pave a definite way for a conducive atmosphere in which both the neighbours will realize the futility of mutual animosity in view of the fast changing international circumstances.
2. Through the second resolution a six-member committee headed by Dr.M.K.Sherwani and comprising Mr.Salahuddin Khan, Saeed Arshad Azmi, Moinullah Khan, Mohd.Naseem Khan, and Riyaz Ahmed Qureishi was constituted to identify the Parliamentary constituencies in U.P. which will be contested by Muslim Forum, and further to hold negotiations with like-minded political parties in a bid to forge electoral alliances.
3. Through the third resolution, it was decided to hold a massive demonstration in Lucknow during the coming month of February,2004 against the hostile continued American occupation of Iraq and the atrocities being committed there by the U.S. forces.
