AIMMM Conveys Good Wishes to Nitish Kumar, as Chief Minister

Election Indicates People’s Desire for Change and for Development with Social Justice

Social Justice Means Participation and Equitable Sharing of Benefits of Welfare and Development

by All Sections of People, particularly MBC’s & Muslims

New Delhi, 24 November, 2005: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement:

"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) conveys its good wishes to Shri Nitish Kumar for a successful term which shall give Bihar progress with social justice, without diluting its tradition of communal harmony.

The AIMMM interprets the election results of Bihar as an indication of the people’s desire for change. The people of Bihar have voted for development but also for Social Justice and Secularism, which are two sides of the same coin.

The AIMMM also expresses its earnest hope that the new Government will provide equal opportunity for participation in governance and equitable share in the fruits of welfare and development to all identifiable sections of the people of Bihar, particularly to those who have remained deprived like the Most Backward Classes and the Muslims."
