British Indian Muslims Deplore London Blasts
London, 7 July, 2005: Council of Indian Muslims — UK (CIM) has condemned terrorist attacks in London as, "Barbaric, cowardly and an attack on humanity."
In a statement issued today, CIM’s Chairman Munaf Zeena said," We firmly believe that the perpetrators of such a heinous, cowardly and brutal crime can not be the follower of any religion or a community having any sense of reason whatsoever. They have their own ideology that flourishes through cowardice, destruction and blood letting."
Endorsing London Mayor Ken Livingston’s view Zeena said, "This attack was not aimed at any class or religious community but common men and women and school children who were going to their work, business and schools in that busy hour of morning."
Praising the "exemplary swiftness of the police, health service and frontline services" Zeena said, "We thank them for their great service and as Londoners we are proud of their swiftness and efficiency."
