Muslim Islamic NewsMillat Bedari Muhim on People’s Democratic Front

Aligarh, 25 May, 2006: A meeting of The Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC), a social organization of Aligarh Muslim University teachers, scholars and Old Boy of AMU, was held on 25th May 2006 (Thursday) at 11:00 am in General Education Center, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
The Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC) considered the formation of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) in its meeting, which was attended by wide cross sections of AMU Community and senior citizens of Aligarh.

The Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC) took up note of the developments within political establishment of the formation of a separate Muslim Front comprising some small Muslim political outfits.

The MBMC feels that such an attempt of forging a 'Front' is desirable but before that a consensus within Muslim community on issues as well as leadership should be arrived at. Muslim leadership always goes with emotional issues instead of economic and social issues. Impact of the globalization, agrarian crisis and poverty eradication don’t touch them. Globalization has hit them hard as majority of the Muslims are engaged in small and cottage industries. Their political and social standings are at risk with negligible representation in decision-making bodies.

Leadership of persons like Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Delhi Mr. Syed Ahmed Bukhari is not acceptable to Muslim masses, as they cannot overlook the fact that he supported Fascist Forces during last parliamentary elections through ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee Himayat Committee’ forgetting even Gujarat Genocide-2002. Moreover, he always bargains interest of the Muslim community.

The MBMC resolves to work for the Political and social unity of the Muslims within secular framework. The MBMC demands that Muslims political elite should provide representation to the educationally and socially backward classes and that's too by their young generation, so that a conducive political alignment may be arrived at.
