AIMMM Welcomes Declaration of Nepal as Secular State

Hopes Protection of Identity and Dignity of all Religious Minorities in Nepal and their Participation in Political, Economic and Social Life of the Country New Delhi,

Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement:
"The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) takes note of the declaration of the Government of Nepal that Nepal is not a Hindu State and that it shall become a Secular State, when the proposed Constituent Assembly meets and drafts its new Constitution.
The AIMMM welcomes Nepal to the family of Secular States which shall guarantee equality to the religious minorities in Nepal, particularly Muslims and Buddhists, protect their identity and dignity and promote their full participation in the political, economic and social life of the country."
